The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Current National Police Clearance
    A valid National Police clearance (less than 6 months old).
  • Minimum of 6 Months’ Experience in Aged Care, Disability, and/or Hospital Settings
    Practical experience in any of these healthcare environments is required to support quality care delivery.
  • Experience in Fast-Paced Laundry Environments
    Previous experience in a busy laundry setting will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities of a Laundry Attendant

  • Sorting & Washing – Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens, towels, and patient garments following hygiene standards.

  • Stain & Damage Inspection – Check linens for stains or damage and ensure they meet healthcare cleanliness requirements.

  • Operating Laundry Equipment – Use commercial washers, dryers, and ironing machines efficiently and safely.

  • Following Infection Control Procedures – Adhere to strict infection control and hygiene protocols in handling soiled and clean linens.

  • Storage & Distribution – Properly store and distribute clean laundry to hospital wards, aged care facilities, and other healthcare settings.

  • Maintaining Clean Workspaces – Keep laundry areas tidy, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.

  • Handling Special Garments – Care for delicate or specialised fabrics used in healthcare environments.

  • Reporting & Documentation – Report damaged or lost items and maintain records as required by facility guidelines.
